BEFORE YOU START USING SYNC: ENSURE SYNC KNOWS THE URL OF QASPER ONLINE The desktop Outlook synchronization program needs to know the URL of your Qasper Office online installation so that it can sync the records from Outlook the Qasper database. There are two ways to provide the information to Qasper Sync: 1. Have Import locate it automatically. Run Internet Explorer (no other browser will do the job in this case) and log in to your Home page at Qasper Office online. This writes a "cookie" to your computer that Qasper Sync will read, with the URL information in it. Once you've done the log in to your Home page, you can log out of Qasper Office online. Check that it's done by running Qasper Sync and reading the URL: If you subsequently delete your cookies, you will need to repeat the process using Internet Explorer. If you've done the above using Internet Explorer and ensured the cookie is written, you can log in with any other browser. 2. You can set up the information manually: If you have a current version of Qasper Sync, it will have a Set up page like this: You can manually complete the information on this page and click [Save setup info]
Qasper - Interacting with Outlook To get information on Importing Contacts from Outlook, click here. Qasper provides a desktop application that runs in background that will synchronize emails, appointments and contacts from your personal Outlook folders with the Qasper centralized database. Although Qasper has built-in emailing, it's often convenient to use your desktop version of Outlook for emailing, either in addition to, or as a replacement for Qasper's email functionality. This is provided by Qasper's Synchronization application. Synchronizing emails, appointments and contacts By installing Qasper's Synchronization Manager on your desktop then specifying certain of your own email addresses in Qasper, you can cause automatic synchronization of your Inbox and Sent items folders and appointments in Outlook. Qasper also automatically sends all new Outlook contacts (and contact changes) across to Qasper, placing them in a holding area until approved by you. Click here for more information. Please note: Qasper does not support Outlook Express. You must be running Outlook to use this feature of the Desktop Manager. How to set up email sync in Qasper: After you have installed Qasper's Desktop Synchronization Manager on your desktop computer, you will see a Qasper icon in the icon tray. That indicates that sync is active. Next, run Qasper: Step 1: Tell Qasper that you want to synchronize.
Step 2: Define all the email addresses you use.
Click here for more information on adding email addresses to Qasper Organizer through your Home page. What this does: By entering an email address and clicking the Synchronize checkbox, you will be telling the Qasper desktop synchronization process that any emails addressed to, or sent by any of those email addresses will be exported from Outlook into Qasper. What else this does: By entering only certain email addresses, it allows you to leave out any of your email addresses that do not meet your requirements for export into Qasper. For example, assume you set up these email addresses in Qasper: but you don't set up this one: Any emails you send using the first 3 emails or any emails you receive addressed to any one of the first 3 emails will be evaluated by Qasper Desktop for synchronization. Any emails sent to the 4th address (me@hotmail.com) will be ignored. Accessing Qasper Synchronization Manager Normally, you don't need to access Qasper Synchronization Manager. It starts automatically and runs in background. However, you can access Qasper Desktop Manager by double clicking the icon (or right clicking and selecting "Restore") in the bottom right area of your computer screen (the system tray). There are tabs to view the sync log, set preferences, temporarily suspend synchronization or manually force synchronization. Under the [Options] tab of [EMail sync] is an option to "go back" any number of days to to resynchronize for any time period, for any reason. Client-side redundancy (click here for more information) settings are available under the [Redundancy] tab: Qasper Synchronization starts when you start your computer, although you can also start it by selecting Start > Programs > Qasper ? Qasper Outlook sync. You can stop Qasper Desktop by restoring it from the system tray, and clicking [Close].
