We have released a version of Qasper iPhone (and iPod Touch and iPad). You can try it with your WiFi-enabled iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad, or your 3G iPhone. The information is here: http://www.qasper.com/qasper_online.htm

This is a very exciting move forward for Qasper, and it's fraught with a ton of issues, the most significant being that the iPhone/iPad web browser cannot handle true multiple pages (boring technical reason).

So we've developed Qasper iPhone as a single page system, and it's very cool. It should work fine on Google's Android and any Windows 6.1 Mobile running Opera mini, but we haven't yet tested on these devices.

No more syncing ... you are connected to your information, instantly - all the time! (Although Qasper also syncs your appointments between your mobile device, Outlook and Qasper )

And we've done some of the heavy lifting for you, to make it easy to view any Qasper page - like:

- opening the pages in zoomed-in view so you can read everything,
- adding scroll buttons to overcome the awful 2-finger scrolling issue,
- positioning the opening screen in the optimal way so that you can get right to work...
- narrowing some of the wider text fields so that they are easier to view

With Qasper for iPod Touch, just flick and tap your way around the screen.

There are some modules that won't be available; notably, Quill and Qalc, but those are more complex apps suited to the larger keyboard and PC, so you won't miss them. All the key modules: contacts, emailing, callbacks, help desk, doc mgmt, home page etc. are all there, along with your calendar and To do list.

Literally, with Qasper Mobile, you can carry your office in your shirt pocket. Go to meetings without your computer, check and update your contacts, action callbacks, collaborate on opportunities, set appointments and schedules, grab your Qasper-synced emails and respond to them, message your colleagues - from restaurants, other offices, the gym - wherever you are.

Qasper Mobile runs over any WiFi network, so there's no cost and the response times are rapid. No waiting for your notebook to boot up - just log in and go... or run it over your 3G/4G connection.

And, with the iPhone of course, you can go beyond WiFi locations and access all your business information from anywhere.

Just so you know, accessing Qasper (or any other complex) web pages on the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad does take extra time. Here's what you can expect for a couple of typical Qasper page delivery times (read the comments following this table). These times are taken testing Qasper installations that use the above-mentioned precompiler against Qasper installations running at WebHost4Life.com.

Comments:

As pages load on your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad, they are actually ready to view within a couple of seconds and you can start flicking around the page to locate the area you want to work with. Qasper's design will decide the optimal page view if you don't touch the page while it is loading. However, by touching and dragging or flicking, you will automatically override that decision.

For example, in "Load Activities List from Home page" above, the total time is as much as 3.00 seconds for remote host access. However, the page list (20 records) will actually fully display in about 1.5 seconds, and you can immediately tap and move around and actually select a detail record before the final display occurs. 

You will frequently find that you can click dropdowns, buttons, edit boxes, etc. as the page is loading and that will expedite your data entry work.
